Frequently Asked Questions

As the title above says, the term "FAQ" means "Frequently Asked Question." Not long after the internet became available, these acronymns startd coming into use.

Below, you'll see several links to FAQ's answered from other websites. The first, is to the newest FAQ's added to our Synod's webpage. At the top of the page which this link will take you to, you'll see subject areas to find additional questions and answers.

Global Lutherans
The number of Lutherans worldwide rose by 229,753 to 69,757,570 million, an increase of 33 percent compared to 69.53 million in 2004. In 2003, there were 65.96 million Lutherans worldwide.

The highest growth was recorded in Africa, where 904,500 new members pushed the total membership in Lutheran churches there to 15,038,072, up by 6.4 percent compared to 2004.
