Junior High students are right in the middle of the book of the prophet Amos, considering God’s word to His people about justice, mercy, and righteousness. Amos challenges us to think through our priorities, our spending, and our concern for others. It is a timely book!

Thank you for visiting our page!.
Welcome to the Sunday School page! Sunday School meets from 9:15-10:15 a.m. during the school year for students age 3 through 8th grade. Through study, discussion, play, and music, we learn the stories of God's love for us in Jesus and grow together in sharing that love with others.
Faith 5 Parent Presentation
We have a terrific Sunday School staff – but they can’t take the place of Mom and Dad when it comes to practicing the faith. The evidence is clear: if you want your child to practice the faith as an adult, you must practice it with him/her now. We’ll show you how to begin. Come to the “Faith 5” parent presentation during the Sunday School hour on Sunday, November 15 in the Council Room.
Home Base Journal
Check out “Home Base” – an e-journal for parents and families from the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod – where you’ll find articles on aspects of family life from raising “tweens” to forming those all-important early faith foundations. Click on the link below to subscribe. Happy reading!

Christian Education Program
Our program uses a variety of different approaches and materials to give our students a comprehensive Christian education.
-Preschool students receive “Read and Learn Bibles” for use with their families at home.
-Third-graders will take a six-week Bible overview course this fall, after which they will receive their own “Faith Alive” Bibles.
-The fourth-grade year is invested in the study of Luther’s Small Catechism.
-Junior high engages in a fast-paced Bible overview as well as in a first introduction to a more adult approach to Bible study. Elementary-age students (other than those mentioned above) follow a traditional story-based program using Concordia’s “Growing in Christ” curriculum. And something new is always in the works at some level! Every week is an important week in Sunday School.
Want to help with Sunday School?
There’s still room! At this writing, we are still looking for a team teacher in sixth grade as well as lots of substitute teachers for all levels and support staff, especially classroom aides and memory work assistants. If you’re interested in serving the Lord in this important ministry, please call Ruth at 385-2183.
Family Faith Newsletters
The Family Faith newsletter will continue to be posted on the website all through the summer. It will provide lots of ideas for activities to keep faith growing all summer long!

Parents are their children’s most important faith teachers.
Opportunities to talk about God’s work in our lives are all around us every day. We at Our Savior’s are committed to helping parents learn the language of “faith talk” with their children. The weekly flyers contain lots of ideas for bringing faith home – the place for its earliest and most solid foundations.
This month, symbols of the Easter season offer lots of opportunities to talk about the Christian faith with your little one. Easter eggs remind us of how life arises from a seemingly lifeless object – just as Jesus rose from the tomb. Butterflies, too, emerge from a dried, “lifeless” cocoon – just as Jesus rose. Spices remind us of the spices used to perfume Jesus’ body. Each color of jelly beans is sometimes used to represent part of the Easter story. And, each year, as spring itself returns, we are reminded of the message of Easter: new life springing from death.
A fun and easy family project to do with your Little Lamb during Holy Week is making a spice cross. Cut a cross from posterboard. Color it with markers or cover it with wrapping paper or Contact paper – then attach whole cloves with glue. As your Little Lamb smells the cloves, talk about the spices that the women used to keep Jesus’ body from spoiling – but it didn’t have time to spoil.
God’s blessings to all our Little Lambs and their families this month!

Confirmation & Jr. High School
Junior high Sunday School classes at Our Savior's are same-gender groups of eight to ten students, led by a staff of seven teachers. The small-group atmosphere is intended to help the students get to know and trust each other and to stimulate discussion.
Confirmation classes are also held for junior-high students on Wednesday evenings during the school year. Contact Pastor Lauer for more information.
